Hi, I am Bert Kiefer
Your Story Starts Here
Photography has been a part of my life ever since I was a kid. My grandfather introduced me to his love of photography every moment I was with him. He showed me how to use a camera, develop film, print my own pictures and the basics of the cameras and lighting.
When I was only 13, I created a small studio on my home, with backgrounds and flashes and would take pictures of my sisters friends and family. W would develop my own film and also print my own B&W pictures. After practicing every chance I had, I share my work with my teachers at my high school.
They were so intrigued with what I was doing, they asked me to share my work with the principal of the school. I helped create the first photography class in my high school back home and taught the teachers everything I knew so they could teach the class. I help build the first photo developing lab at the school so students could develop and print the pictures they shoot during the class.
After graduating high school , getting married, and having 2 beautiful children my love for photography slowly drifted away and was forgotten. After working in an office for 16 years, I found my love for photography again with the launch of DSLR cameras and started Bert Kiefer Photography!
One of my favorite parts of my job is you: the people I get to meet and work with. It is such an honor to be asked to capture important moments in people’s lives. To be asked to be a part of important events, hearing stories, witnessing love stories unfold, watching kids grow up, it is such a gift to call this my job!
I have been an event photographer for 12 years and have covered 200+ events, not to include bridal, engagement, and fashion photoshoots.
My Philosophy
capturing your special momentsI have a very particular approach when I photograph a wedding. My goal is to travel throughout your day emotionally and visually connected to your celebration. This allows me to create a photographic story of your day full of natural, candid moments. It is important for me that I am an unobtrusive part of your day. I do not take over an event because I want the day to be as natural and true to the couple as it can be. I am in the room, but not in the room.
